Transmission es un cliente BitTorrent open source , ligero, y con las opciones necesarias para descargar archivos sin problemas.
Transmission ofrece una versión gráfica para Mac y para Linux, con una interfaz bastante cuidada que mejora en funcionalidades el entorno del BitTorrent original.
Entre sus funciones, Transmission destaca en el control de la velocidad de subida y bajada, la limitación de velocidad en intervalos de tiempo, compatibilidad con UPnP, estadísticas y filtro para el intercambio con seeds seguros.
